Integrated Beef Marketing System: The CL SuperCross system has been selecting cattle under an incredibly intense and unforgiving selection program for over 30 years. In addition, we have been working with Research Management Systems and have access to an instrument grading system that analyses carcass quality and tenderness in major packing plants. Through our work at this level, as well as our years of refining and work on the production of our SuperCross herd, we are proud to stand behind our cattle as a very uniform, highly productive, and quality animal. What we working on now is linking our production system into a consumer driven marketing system. This may be either via internet marketing, or by controlling our product through the packing process and on to the retail shelves in a boxed beef program. CL is actively working on the designer beef concept, working on the front lines of the health aspects of beef and the studies on CLA and fatty acids. We produce around 4000 calves each year from our CL SuperCross genetics, and hope to develop an integrated system to market our years of work on the production side in the form of a quality meat product. In order to organize integrated systems and develop markets, we need innovative ideas and meaningful business contacts. Cooperator ("Cow Operator") Herds:
We have been developing systems of expanding our production herd base over the last decade through the use of cooperator herds throughout western Canada. Please see the CL Beef page on this website for a more detailed description of the process. If you have a landbase and are unwilling to take the risks of cattle ownership, or if you are interested in running cattle as part of a bigger system, you may be interested in becoming a Cow Operator producer in our CL SuperCross system.
